 The Lagos Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police CP Idowu Owohunwa, is initiating a comprehensive investigation into the death of the singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad. This action is in response to increasing public concerns and a preliminary review by the police. To conduct this investigation effectively, a Special Investigation Team has been formed within the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). This specialized team comprises experienced homicide detectives and is tasked with gathering and analyzing all allegations, suspicions, and insinuations related to Mohbad's death. Drug kingpin excretes 95 pellets of heroin in Abuja

 A 36-year-old Nigerian, based in Italy, Nwakanma Uche, has excreted 95 pellets of heroin, after he was arrested by operatives of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA). Uche was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, after it was discovered that he had ingested the pellets. The Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Mr Femi Babafemi, said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja. Children at risk of severe monkeypox cases – NCDC

 The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has warned Nigerians that severe cases of monkeypox, currently being experienced in some countries, including Nigeria, are common in children. The disease, which according to the World Health Organisation is endemic to West and Central African countries, has started to surface in European countries. While NCDC noted that only 46 suspected cases had been reported with 15 confirmed so far, countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Portugal, Spain and Canada, among others reported cases of the disease. The centre assured Nigerians of its capacity to effectively diagnose and respond to cases, while it also warned that severe cases commonly occur in children.

 Troops of the Nigerian Army under the auspices of Operation Hadin Kai have bombed a convoy of Abubakar Sarki, a Commander of Boko Haram in Sambisa forest, killing scores of terrorists who were with him. NCC alerts Nigerians on new ways hackers unlock, steal vehicles, android apps

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says it wishes to alert telecom consumers and members of the public on an ongoing cyber-vulnerability that allows a nearby hacker to unlock vehicles, start their engines wirelessly and make away with the cars. It said that the fact that car remotes are categorized short range devices that make use of radio frequency (RF) to lock and unlock cars informed the need for the Commission to alert the general public on this danger, where hackers take advantage to unlock and start a compromised car. According to the latest advisory released by the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), the Cybersecurity Centre for the telecom sector established by the NCC, the vulnerability is a Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attack or, more specifically, a replay attack, in which an attacker intercepts the RF signals normally sent from a remote key fob to the car, manipulates these signals, and re-sends them later to unlock the car at will.
